Here it is on a Friday night, and I'm going on a pity date.
What's a pity date you ask? Well, tonight I'm going out with a guy that I kinda dated a while back, but didn't really click with. I haven't seen him in ages, and I sorta felt bad after canceling on him so often. Tonight, we're going to call him.... Billy. Billy is a good name for him.
Last night I was out drinking with the Boy, and I'm willing to admit that I was pretty hung over this morning. I was working this afternoon and just got home so I'm fairly tired too. Good thing Billy lives kinda far away, so we can call it an early night.
Why am I going on a pity date? Because I'm not very good at saying "no, you don't interest me like that." Strange sounding, I know, but it's one of my failings as a bad dater. Or maybe it's a strength as a bad dater. I'm not sure which, but there it is. And he called and he asked, and I've said no about a dozen times, and I guess he gets points for persistence.
Frankly, I'd rather be out with Curly. Or just napping on the couch. But then again, I don't get paid this week, and hey, free meal. And yes, maybe that's a little shallow, but I know I'm not the only one that does it.

I've been on pity dates, just didn't quite have a name for them. Now I know what they are called : ) I've gotten much better at saying "no, I'm really not interested" though, which is really a good thing. There's nothing more uncomfortable for me to go out with someone I'm dogging all night, very tiresome!
Pity dates...yuck. Remember them well. The mommy version is pity playdates...where you are stuck hanging with a mom that bores you because *she* wants to get the kids together. I try to avoid those as much as possible but occasionally capitulate.

That's pretty selfish. No guy with any sense of self worth wants to have their time wasted going on a date with someone that isn't interested in him. What's worse is that you got a free meal out him under false pretenses. Essentially you used his interest in you to steal money from him.
But it's all okay since you turned him down "like a dozen times." Nobody asks a girl out a dozen times (and gets rejected) unless one of two things is going on: The girl is leading him on. And/or he is completely insane. And if that's the case, then you just made it worse by using him for a free meal. In his warped mind you are now dating. If he goes mental and starts stalking you, it's at least 50% your fault. Something tells me he's not wrapped too tight if he would let some girl play him for months.
The sort of games you are playing with this poor sap is complete junior high bullshit. You need to grow up and be a woman instead of a little girl. Stop thinking about yourself so much. You sound like a really terrible person.
